Thank you for your love and support!
We’ve been patients at Lurie’s since our son Raymond's cancer diagnosis in 2022. The nurses, doctors, volunteers, food service team, custodians, and all staff have become family and have been nothing short of extraordinary. They go above and beyond every single day, providing not only exceptional medical care but also the compassion and support that our family—and so many others—need during difficult times.
For my birthday this year, I want to give back to this incredible place that has given so much to us. Instead of gifts, I’m asking for donations to Lurie Children’s to help ensure that every child who comes through their doors receives the best possible care.
Every dollar makes a difference, and your generosity will go directly toward helping the hospital continue its lifesaving work.
Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday by supporting a cause so close to my heart.
With love and gratitude,
Krista
His story:
Raymond was diagnosed with High Risk Neuroblastoma in October 2022. He began a rigorous 15 month treatment journey which included five rounds of chemotherapy, two stem cell transplants, three weeks of radiation on the tumor in his stomach and five rounds of immunotherapy. He completed his treatment Dec 30, 2023. Three weeks later, they discovered multiple brain tumors. One was removed immediately, the rest needed to be treated with 20 days of an intense cranial spinal radiation, and a year of a bridge immuno-chemotherapy.
He's spent more than half of each year inpatient at Lurie Children's. Yet, he never complains about having to go to the hospital - they are his family and he's so loved.
He's an amazing and incredibly strong little man - our little superhero. His scans have been favorable and he's approaching his 18th (of 18) round of therapy in January 2025. God has been with us every step of the way and we're so grateful for His guidance through this journey. Our family and friends have been such an unbelievable support system. His big sisters are his biggest fans and they keep him (and us) smiling.
