James Thompson Sweat it out Fundraiser March 25th 4:30 and 6:00 215 Fremont St, San Francisco

If you were to rewind the clock from two years ago to today and zoom into the loop of Chicago to 180 N Lasalle, you would find a tale as old as the American dream.

You would find a couple of young professionals coming together in the hope that their combined efforts would make a sum greater than their individual parts.

One of the people on the sales pit who shined brighter than most was my friend James Thompson.

During the time I started working with James, I was not in the best headspace; we were selling software during the beginning of the tech bubble burst, so work was hard. I had recently gone through a painful breakup, so my self-worth was off, and most of the friends in my social circle had forever changed during the changing environments of COVID.

When the DocuSign office opened for the first time, those of us who were most over the isolation of COVID began to come in. The young, the anxious, and the hungry started to come around, looking for a guiding light to help them grow during the challenging environment.

Until one day, James Thompson came bouncing into the office. Always with a smile, there to help you with your problems and to look for the light in challenging times.

One of the things I will always remember about James is his ability to show up for the ones he cared about when it mattered most. Though he always made it seem effortless, he would always joke with his friends about his pit stains from all the sweating he did to hold it all together for all of us.

Last March 25th, my buddy James, at 26 years old and 7 days old when he involved in a hit-and-run, cutting a beautiful life short. Although his life is over, the light he brought into mine and everyone's lives he touched is not forgotten.

During his wake, his parents asked that in lieu of flowers, we would donate to Project Adam. Being 31 today, 5 years older than James was when his life was cut short, I feel a responsibility to keep spreading the light James brought to this earth each day he was alive.

My call to action is to raise one dollar for each day of James's life. With 26 years and seven days of life, that's a goal of $9,503 for James.  Please donate and share the link wiht your friends.

On March 25th, feel free to join me in my James Thompson Sweat to remember event.

For all those who are willing to donate $38 dollars or more, I will lead a free CorePower Yoga Sculpt class on Monday, March 25th, at 215 Fremont St, San Francisco, CA 94105. Classes will be at 4:30 and 6:00 PST.

Through the sweat and tears, see the light, be the light, #LiveLikeJames.
