Be a part of my journey!
Hi guys!!
I will be running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for my patients on the 17th floor at Lurie Children’s Hospital. We specalize in treating pediatric oncologic and hematologic diagnoses. Money raised by my run will be supporting clinical trials for advanced treatments, as well as our floor's "A Little Lighter" fund. "A Little Lighter" was created by one of my coworkers, a fellow nurse Ellie, to support families and patients that recieve treatment on our floor.
This cause holds a special place in my heart as I have been working with this pediatric cancer population for the past two years at Lurie's and have made some of the most incredible relationships with both patients and families. I’m honored to be running to help make a difference for these kids and their families.
Training for this marathon has been a challenge, but it’s nothing compared to what these children go through every day. That’s why I’m asking for your support. Any donation—big or small—will go directly to supporting families during incredibly difficult times.
Here’s how your donations can make a difference:
$100 is enough to help make a child’s hospital stay a more positive experience with activities, supplies and toys.
$250 can provide patients with the support they need to thrive after lengthy hospital stays.
$500 supports clinical trials to help discover new or more effective treatment options.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation. If you’re able to contribute, I would be truly grateful.
On behalf of the patients and families of Lurie Children’s, thank you for your support.
From all of us on the Pediatric Oncology floor, we also thank you greatly! Your support and encouragement helps keep me going through every mile.
