Help Me Support the Patients at Lurie Children’s Hospital!
I am excited to announce that I am running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for the amazing patients on the 17th floor at Lurie Children’s Hospital! This cause is incredibly close to my heart, as my girlfriend, Sarah, works on the hematology/oncology floor at Lurie Children’s, providing exceptional care to children facing serious illnesses. I hope you’ll join me in supporting this vital cause and help me reach my fundraising goal for the patients and families at Lurie Children’s.
A Little Lighter Foundation
Thousands of children are diagnosed with cancer every year and treatment is often incredibly taxing on the body, hospital stays are long and frequent, and the emotional distress can be overwhelming. Despite these challenges, the kids show remarkable strength and resiliency. Throughout one's treatment, the families, nurses, and doctors are often asking, "What can we do to make treatment a little better for the children?" Your donation will go directly to the "A Little Lighter Foundation" for the Hematology/Oncology/Stem Cell Transplant Unit at Lurie Children’s Hospital to try and make each pateints stay A Little Lighter.
Here’s How Your Donations Can Make a Difference:
- $10: Can buy a family a thermometer to detect early signs of life-threatening infections at home while their child is immunocompromised.
- $14: Can pay for a parking pass so both parents can come to bedside for dinner without thinking of the cost of another parking space.
- $50: Can buy games and distractive toys for kids during their long hospital stays.
- $100: Can support a parent attending one of our parents' support groups.
- $500: Can help fund an event for our Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) group to support teens going through cancer treatment.
- $1,000: Can go towards finding better treatment for pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease.
Join me in helping make their heaviness a little lighter as I run 26.2 miles for all of the children and families affected by pediatric cancer and blood disorders.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.
On behalf of the patients, families, and dedicated staff at Lurie Children’s, thank you for your generous support!
