I am excited to announce that I will be running in the upcoming Chicago Marathon, and I am running with a purpose close to my heart: to support pediatric cancer patients at Lurie Children’s Hospital through the Little Lighter Fund.

As a nurse at Lurie Children's Hospital, I witness the incredible courage of these young patients and their families every day. Childhood cancer and sickle cell disease can feel overwhelming, but through the Little Lighter Fund, we strive to bring some brightness into their lives.

Our mission is simple: to make things a little lighter for these brave children and their families. We do this through various activities, such as bubble parades, fashion shows, nail salons, sticker books, bracelet making, and more. These seemingly small things can make a world of difference in the lives of these children, providing moments of joy during challenging times.

Additionally, the Little Lighter Fund supports vital research at Lurie Children’s Hospital. By funding research efforts, we are working towards a future where childhood cancer is no longer a threat, where families no longer have to endure the pain and uncertainty that comes with a diagnosis.

But we can't do this alone. We need your support to continue making a difference in the lives of these children and families. Your donation will help fund activities, support groups, research, and essential resources for those battling childhood cancer and sickle cell disease.
