I am running the Chicago Marathon for the childhood cancer patients at Lurie Children’s through the Little Lighter Fund! :) I am dedicating my 26.2 miles to advancing research, supporting families and helping to provide access for more kids to receive the exemptional care that they deserve. 

My older sister Ellie started the Little Lighter Fund a few years at Lurie Children's after she has been a pediatric oncology nurse here since starting her career. I have watched this foundation firsthand benefit so many children that are receiving care at Lurie. A Little Lighter is focused on bringing moments of joy and light to families that are going through something no child or family should have to endure. 

I'm currently a medical student who will be working in pediatrics in the future and I feel so passionately about finding ways to show patients how much we support and care for them. I am running this marathon to raise money for this fund that is so close to my heart and benefits so many families at Lurie.

I have seen firsthand the joy on a kiddos face when they get a new basketball hoop set up in their room to make their start to chemo feel a bit less daunting.
