Liam, was born prematurely at 30 weeks and 5 days, spending 70 days in the NICU. During that time, we were fortunate to have the care and expertise of Lurie Children’s doctors. Liam was also diagnosed with a right aortic arch, creating a vascular ring around his trachea and esophagus that prevented him from eating solid foods. At 17 months old, he returned to Lurie Children’s Hospital, where he underwent successful heart surgery that allowed him to eat solids for the first time.

 

We are running the 2025 Chicago Marathon not only for Liam but for all the children whose lives are touched by Lurie Children’s Hospital.
