I am running the Life Time Chicago Fall Half Marathon for my hematology, oncology, and stem cell transplant patients at Lurie Children’s! As a part of team A Little Lighter, I am raising money for our fund that provides important services to our patients and their families. 

As a nurse on inpatient hem/onc/stem cell for the past 6 years, I have seen the direct impact of these funds on our unit. Last year, my incredible husband Joe ran the Chicago Marathon (his first!) for team A Little Lighter (2 days after our son was born!) and I've spent the past year building back my running endurance to accomplish this goal myself and help some very special patients and families :) 

Your donation to our fund will help us provide: 

Donations to research for pediatric cancer and sickle cell disease, parent support groups, teen support groups, toys for patients, our ice cream cart that visits patients on our unit, parking passes, medical supplies, hospital room decorations, birthday party supplies, and SO much more!!

All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.
