Nathan's Big Comeback

Nathan Steps it Up for Lurie the 1st time!
Nathan is a survivor because of Lurie Children's Hospital. At 5 months old, his heart unexpectedly began to fail - and ultimately required 17 mins of CPR and then being put on ECMO - a life support technique where this machine did the work of his heart and lungs to provide blood and oxygen to the rest of his body. We thought we were going to lose him that night he was put on the machine. Over the next few weeks we learned he had a rare, heart condition called Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) normally seen in adults which meant he had dangerous life-threatening arrhythmias.
Thank God we were sent to Lurie's the night everything escalated so quickly. There's no doubt they saved his life that night. And provided us all the follow-up care and support we needed thereafter so now, 4 years later, he's long healed from all the aftermath and gets to live his childhood fully without medication or restriction. It's a miracle. But one enabled by the science administered by the caring staff and volunteers at Lurie Children's Hospital.
Make a difference in the lives of nearly 220,000 patients treated at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago each year.
I hope you’ll help us reach our goal in support of the patients and families at Lurie Children’s.
Here’s how your donations can make a difference:
$100 is enough help make a child’s hospital stay a more positive experience with activities, supplies and toys.
$250 can provide patients with the support they need to thrive after lengthy hospital stays.
$500 supports clinical trials to help discover new or more effective treatment options.
$1000 means we can train the next generation of specialists.
All donations are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged by Lurie Children’s Foundation.
On behalf of the patients and families of Lurie Children’s like ours, thank you for your support!
