What is the Bank of America Chicago Marathon?

The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is the pinnacle of achievement for many seasoned athletes and recreational runners alike. For the past 23 years, hundreds of runners have come together to run the Bank of America Chicago Marathon while supporting the patients and families at Lurie Children's. Throughout their training, runners work towards the required fundraising goal to help ensure a brighter and healthier future for our patients.

* Runners must complete all Lurie Children’s Marathon Team requirements AND Bank of America Chicago Marathon registration requirements, including payment of the entry fee to the Chicago Marathon. Registering for our team DOES NOT automatically register you for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

What are the registration and fundraising requirements?

  • $50 registration fee paid to Lurie Children’s Marathon Team at time of registration (non-refundable)
  • $240 (US Residents)/ $250 (Non Residents) entry fee paid to Bank of America Chicago Marathon at time of registration (non-refundable)
  • Runners who join our team before the application period for the drawing closes (mid-November) need an entry for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon: $1,500
  • Runners who join our team on or after the drawing closes and need an entry for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon: $2,100**
  • Runners who join our team at any time and secured their own entry for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon either through the lottery, legacy runner, time qualifier: $650

* Runners must register for both the Lurie Children’s Marathon Team AND fulfill the registration and payment requirements for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Steps to secure your entry through Bank of America will be emailed to you after registering with our team.

** This option will only be available for a limited time, it is best to secure your spot before the drawing closes to ensure your 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon participation.

Do I gain access to a training program?

To ensure each member of Lurie Children’s Marathon Team is prepared for a successful 26.2 mile journey, we have joined forces with Chicago Endurance Sports as our Official Marathon Training Partner. Runners who join Lurie Children’s Marathon Team will receive a complimentary 19-week training program with the option to participate virtually or in-person. Runners will have the opportunity to select which training option works best for their schedule as a part of team registration.
